Didem Medine İnci
I’m Didem Medine İnci. I live and work in Istanbul. I’m an artist, illustrator and art director. A graduate of Kocaeli University, I’ve been working since 2016 across album art, character design, brand identity and digital art.
I designed album covers for icons of Turkish music — Cem Karaca and Moğollar — a rare position between popular culture and art. arteemoji is the autonomous visual language I’ve built on this long-standing practice.
I was born in Istanbul in 1992. I first studied graphic design, then photography — but the thing that truly shaped me was painting. On canvas I work with the house paint society consumes; on screen, with the emoji. Both languages look at the same place: the emotion of the contemporary human.
Painting is my first language, but the symbols of the screen are also a form of expression for me.
